I'm Julia, the artist and owner of Aesthete Modern Clay. The word AESTHETE [es-theet] is defined as someone who has a deep love and appreciation for art and nature. To me, this word encapsulates how I see the world, and is why I chose to use it in the name. Nature, travel, photography, music, and art, are all things that bring me joy and inspiration. I strive to find the beauty in every day, even on the days it feels harder to find, and as an artist I try to share that beauty with others. I hope that when you put on a piece of Aesthete Modern Clay jewelry, it reminds you to look for the beauty around you, and within you. It's an honor to have you here, and I hope you find something that resonates with you. From my hands in Minnesota to you, wherever you may be, thank you.

OUR MISSION

At Aesthete Modern Clay, we are a woman owned, LGBTQIA+ owned small business. It is our mission to not only create jewelry that makes the person wearing it feel beautiful, but also give the customer peace of mind knowing they are supporting an inclusive company that gives back to the community, and supports the conservation of our planet.

OUR COMMUNITY

Throughout the year, Aesthete Modern Clay pledges to donate 5% of proceeds to non-profits and charities. In addition to donating to the organizations that matter to us personally, we are also asking some of the incredible women we are fortunate enough to work with to choose where they would like to see those funds donated to.

At Aesthete Modern Clay, our impact on the planet matters. We are mindful in our decisions on what materials we buy, how much waste we produce, and how we package our jewelry to send it out into the world. We aren't perfect, but we do our best, and will continue taking meaningful steps forward, with the health of our planet in mind.

Care Instructions

The jewelry you receive from Aesthete Modern Clay is handmade. As with all handcrafted items, each piece is unique and slightly imperfect, which is part of what makes it beautiful. What you receive will vary slightly in color and texture from what you see in the photo listings, but that's what makes it "yours". Polymer clay jewelry is durable and long lasting, as long as you do your part to take care of it.

- Do your best to keep liquids, perfumes, lotions, etc. away from your jewelry.

-The clay can be scratched/damaged, so we suggest being mindful of how you store your jewelry. Each order comes with a small, reusable bag that works well for traveling. We also know of customers who keep their earring cards for storage as well!

-If you accidentally get make-up or dirt on your jewelry, you can wet a cotton swab and wipe it clean, and if that doesn't work, a small dab of acetone (nail polish remover) on a cotton swab can help, but this should be a last resort.

-Try to avoid extreme temperatures.

-Be mindful of keeping jewelry away from children/pets (lots of shiny/small pieces).
